Veronica Sforza, LCSW, USAF Major(Ret.)
Veronica Sforza is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who joins Guardian Health Center following a decorated career in the United States Air Force, from which she retired at the rank of Major. Over years of both active-duty and reserve service, she delivered clinical social work to Airmen and their families across the full arc of military life — the strain of deployment cycles, the disorientation of coming home, the quiet toll that operational tempo takes on marriages and children, and the grief and moral weight that service members often carry long after a mission ends. She sat with people at their most acute moments and with those doing the slower work of putting a life back together, and she brought to both the discipline and steadiness that her education, experience, and rank reflects. Her service was recognized with numerous awards and decorations honoring her clinical ability, her leadership, and her care for the people entrusted to her.
What distinguishes Ms Sforza is her fluency in two worlds that rarely speak the same language. She understands the culture, structure, and unwritten rules of military life — what it costs to ask for help inside those systems, and what it means to leave it — and she is equally at home in civilian practice, where she has counseled clients through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship strain, and the ordinary but destabilizing transitions that arrive without warning. That dual perspective means she rarely needs a client to explain their entire world before the work can begin. Her approach is collaborative and unhurried, grounded in the belief that people arrive already knowing a great deal about their own lives, and that a clinician's job is to help them see it clearly and act on it. Veterans, retirees, active-duty members, military spouses and children, and civilian clients alike find in her someone who listens closely, speaks plainly, and holds steady when a conversation gets difficult.
It is with great honor that Guardian Health Center welcomes Ms Sforza to our team. Her role here is an extension of our whole-person approach to care: she is a resource our providers can draw on directly when a patient's needs reach beyond what a medical visit alone can address. Ms Sforza works with individuals facing acute concerns and pressing needs — helping them stabilize, regain their footing, and build a realistic path forward. Patients are connected with her through their Guardian Health Center provider, who makes the referral and coordinates scheduling as part of the patient's overall plan of care. If you think you would benefit from meeting with Ms Sforza, the best first step is simply to mention it to your provider at your next visit.
